Russian attack on Kyiv kills 2 and injures 16, damages more than 50 sites

The number of people injured in the overnight combined Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 16. More than 50 sites in the capital were damaged, and two people were killed, according to Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.
Explosions were heard in the city for nearly five hours, and damage was recorded in many districts of the capital. In particular, two people were killed in the Solomianskyi district as a result of the strike, while the number of injured residents rose to 16.
In total, more than 50 sites were damaged in Kyiv. Damage was recorded at residential buildings, a dormitory, on school grounds, at shops, a gas station and a flour production facility.
At the strike sites, emergency services rescued 13 civilians from under the rubble and from blocked premises, including in the Holosiivskyi district. During the response efforts, State Emergency Service vehicles came under repeated enemy strikes.

More than 300 rescuers and police officers are currently working at seven locations in the capital. They are extinguishing fires, clearing rubble, receiving reports of damaged property, and have also deployed mobile service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the urgent replacement of lost documents.
At least 14 apartment buildings, a school, a clinic, a supermarket and a gas station were damaged in the overnight strike. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has opened criminal proceedings over a war crime.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia deliberately tried to cause as much harm to people as possible during the overnight attack on Kyiv.
