Russian attack on Kharkiv region leaves several casualties

Four people were injured as a result of a drone attack on the village of Vilshany in the Kharkiv region, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, on August 16 at around 9:00 p.m., a Russian strike drone hit the yard of a private house in the village of Vilshany.
At that time, a 49-year-old man, his 46-year-old wife, their 19-year-old daughter, and their 76-year-old relative were present. All suffered an acute stress reaction. The house and garage were damaged.
The type of drone that carried out the attack is currently being determined.
The Dergachiv District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region has opened a pre-trial investigation for a war crime (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported explosions in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, which residents heard on the evening of August 16. The Air Force reported a fast-moving target approaching the Dnipropetrovsk region from the east.
The Dnipropetrovsk region was also attacked by Russian strike drones during the night of August 16, causing fires in several districts, which local services attempted to extinguish.
Additionally, today, a Russian drone struck State Emergency Service personnel in the Zaporizhzhia region while they were putting out a fire at a warehouse facility.
RBC-Ukraine reported that Russian forces conducted strikes during the night of August 16 across eastern and northern regions of Ukraine. Frontline areas in Sumy, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions were hit. The Russian military used an Iskander missile, 85 Shahed strike drones, and imitation drones.
