In Kyiv, 1,676 apartment buildings remain without heating following Russia's attack on the capital on January 24, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.
According to him, damage to critical infrastructure previously left nearly 6,000 buildings without heat. Most of them had already been reconnected, or attempts had been made to restore heating, after earlier strikes on January 9 and 20.
At the same time, since the evening of January 24, municipal services and energy workers have managed to restore heat supply to more than 1,600 buildings. Recovery efforts are ongoing, with specialists continuing work to return heating to residents’ homes as quickly as possible.
Recovery after Russia's attack on Kyiv
Klitschko earlier said that about 3,300 apartment buildings were left without heating after the overnight shelling. Municipal services are operating in emergency mode to restore the city’s critical systems.
Water supply has already been restored on the left bank of Kyiv, although residents on upper floors may still experience disruptions. Work continues to fully restore electricity, heating, and stable water supply following Russia’s large-scale attack on critical infrastructure.
As reported, Kyiv came under drone and missile strikes overnight on January 24. Damage was recorded in five districts of the city, with residential and non-residential buildings destroyed. According to the latest data, one person was killed and at least four others were injured.
