In the early hours of July 1, Russian forces launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia, causing a fire in the city, according to a Telegram post by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned overnight of a threat from attack drones targeting Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region. Meanwhile, Ivan Fedorov reported that air defense systems were actively engaged.

There was also a reported threat of ballistic missile strikes that night, but the military has not confirmed any missile activity. Therefore, it is likely that no ballistic missiles were used.

Attacks on Zaporizhzhia

Russian forces have been regularly attacking Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding region, using drones and missiles to carry out strikes.

For example, on the night of June 27, the enemy launched at least six attacks on the regional capital. The assault caused several fires and damaged non-residential buildings.

Additionally, on the night of June 29, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine. Among the targets was Zaporizhzhia, where a missile strike damaged a production facility at one of the local enterprises.
