Russian attack hits Ukrainian Kramatorsk gas line, thousands left without supply

Russian forces attacked the gas supply system of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region yesterday, leaving about 3,000 subscribers without gas, according to the Kramatorsk City Council.
"Yesterday, the enemy struck the city, damaging the gas supply system. In particular, a high-pressure distribution gas pipeline was hit, causing a fire that was visible from various parts of the city," the City Council stated.
It is noted that an emergency crew quickly localized the emergency situation. As a result, 2,788 subscribers in the city and the settlement of Yasnohirka were left without gas.
The exact consequences of the attack are still being assessed, and specialists will soon begin repair work.
"We urge public sector consumers to shut off gas valves on their appliances. Private sector consumers should close the shut-off valve on the pipeline at the entry to their houses. Please note that gas will only be restored by specialists from the Kramatorsk gas supply department after completion of repair works. Unauthorized restoration of gas service is a violation of gas safety regulations. Do not put yourself or your loved ones at risk," the regional gas company added.
