Russian attack damages Ukraine's education ministry building in Kyiv

On Saturday, one of the administrative buildings of Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science in Kyiv was damaged in a Russian attack, reports Andrii Vitrenko, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science.
"No employees of the ministry or visitors were injured. Emergency rescue services are currently at the scene, clearing debris and addressing the aftermath of the strike," Vitrenko wrote.
He added that the Ministry is taking all necessary organizational measures to ensure the continuous operation of its key functions despite temporarily limited access to the damaged building.

Earlier, during Russia's massive attack on Kyiv overnight and in the morning, Russian forces targeted a dormitory of the National Aviation University.

On the night of December 26–27, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Kyiv, deploying missiles and strike drones. Air raid sirens blared across the capital as air defense units engaged the incoming threats.
Several districts faced power and heating outages, with utility services already working to restore supply. City authorities urged residents to follow air raid warnings and take immediate shelter in the event of renewed threats.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that during the massive assault, Russia launched 40 missiles and 519 strike drones at Ukraine, while air defenses successfully destroyed 503 of the aerial targets.
As of 3:50 PM Kyiv time, one person had been killed, and 30 were injured in Kyiv, while in the Kyiv region, one person was killed and about five were injured.
Moreover, Kyiv experienced its fourth air raid alert of the day.
