Russian attack damages Kyiv apartment building and children’s hospital

As a result of the missile attack on Kyiv, debris was recorded near a five-story residential building in the Solomyanskyi district. A fire broke out at the scene, and windows in the building were damaged.

According to Vitali Klitschko, in the Solomyanskyi district, a children's hospital building was damaged as a result of the shelling. Windows were blown out in the building, and a fire broke out on the premises — cars are on fire.
As a result of the enemy strike, a five-story residential building was also damaged in the area. Information regarding possible casualties is currently being confirmed by the relevant services working at the scene.
In the Solomyanskyi district of the capital, according to preliminary reports, people were trapped in a shelter. Emergency services are already heading to the scene.
Meanwhile, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the consequences of strikes on both the left and right banks of the city. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a strike on non-residential premises was recorded. In the Darnytskyi district, a fire also broke out in non-residential buildings.

The Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) has reported new consequences of the attack on Kyiv — as of 01:15 Kyiv time, six people are confirmed injured. Unfortunately, two women were killed in the enemy strike.

On the night of August 20, Russian forces launched an attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles, resulting in explosions in the capital. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had warned residents in advance about the threat of strikes from the northern direction.
On the same day, Ukrainians were warned about Russia's preparation for new shelling. In particular, it was noted that the Russian leadership is not inclined toward peace, and citizens were urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to proceed to shelters promptly in the event of danger.
