Russian army intensifies attacks in Kursk region third day in a row, using North Korean troops
For three days now, Russian troops have been conducting intense offensives in the Kursk region, involving the North Korean military, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Russian forces continue to shell border settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. They are also conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities.
“For the third day, the enemy has been conducting intensive offensive actions on the territory of the Kursk region, actively using units of the North Korean army. North Korean mercenaries have already suffered heavy losses. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding the line, destroying enemy personnel and equipment,” he added.
Situation in the Kursk region
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said yesterday that Russia had begun using North Korean soldiers in the battles in the Kursk region. This information was confirmed by the Pentagon. According to US Department of Defense spokesman General Patrick Ryder, there are already dead and wounded among the North Korean military.
Ukraine's General Staff warned of a sharp increase in fighting in the Kursk region. Almost one-third of all military clashes on Dec. 14 were recorded in this direction.
