Russian army intensified in Orikhiv direction

In Ukraine, during July 20 and into the late evening, 126 combat engagements were recorded at the front. Russian forces intensified their activities in the Orikhiv direction, while Pokrovsk remains the hottest area, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The military command report provided operational information on the situation at the front as of 10:00 p.m. on July 20.
The General Staff noted that the Defense Forces are focusing their efforts on disrupting the Russian army's offensive plans and depleting their combat potential.
Russian shelling
Throughout the day, the enemy launched 2 missile strikes (14 missiles), 54 air raids (69 guided aerial bombs), and 531 drone attacks on Ukrainian territory.
Additionally, Russian forces carried out 3,179 shellings of the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy made 5 assaults on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the areas of Vovchansk and Hlyboke. The attacks were unsuccessful.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions. Currently, 7 engagements are ongoing in the areas of Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Pisky.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian defense positions 7 times during the day. In the areas of Nevske and Makiivka, 5 attacks were repelled, while 2 are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 8 attempts by the enemy to improve their tactical positions near Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, and Vyimka. The Russian army faced losses and was forced to withdraw.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy's 11 attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Novomarkove, and Stupochki failed. Fighting near Klishchiivka is ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces conducted 5 assaults during the day in the areas of Zalizne, Pivnichne, and New York. Combat continues at three locations.
The General Staff noted that the enemy was intensively attacking the Pokrovsk direction. Throughout the day, the enemy carried out a total of 47 assault and offensive actions there.
The highest enemy activity remains in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Progres, and Novoselivka Persha. Four engagements in this direction are still ongoing.
"According to preliminary estimates, today our forces eliminated 87 and injured 127 soldiers. Two 'Tiger' armored vehicles, two armored personnel carriers, and two Lancet loitering munitions were destroyed. Additionally, three enemy artillery systems were neutralized," the report states.
In the Kurakhove direction, there are currently 11 combat engagements. Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka direction, 4 battles near Staromayorske and Kostiantynivka ended in defeat for the enemy.
The enemy has intensified activities in the Orikhiv direction, carrying out 5 attacks during the day near the settlements of Robotyne and Mala Tokmachka.
The General Staff also added that in the Prydniprovskyi direction, 8 assault attempts by the occupiers on the left bank of the Dnipro River, in the direction of Kozachi Laheri and Krynky, were unsuccessful.
No significant changes have occurred in other directions.
Earlier, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces were preparing another offensive attempt in the Kharkiv region.
