The Russian military have increased the number of attacks in the Novopavlivka direction. Meanwhile, the enemy’s battle tactics remain unchanged, reports Ivan, deputy commander of the artillery division of the 148th separate Zhytomyr brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, with the Varan call sign, during a national telethon live broadcast.

The military officer said that the enemy’s advancement by small infantry groups is supported by artillery and aviation, including drones. According to Varan, no armored vehicles have been seen in this direction for a long time.

The deputy commander of the artillery division of the 148th separate Zhytomyr brigade of the Air Assault Forces explained that the enemy’s tactics remain "traditional," but the scale of attacks and the "physical number" of assault troops have increased.

"There have been many attempts to advance toward the Dnipropetrovsk region. So far, they have not succeeded. It is quite difficult to predict their next moves. One possible scenario is that the enemy will try to encircle the Novopavlivka region from the north and south. Why? Because if they try to assault Novopavlivka head-on, they will find themselves in a lowland before a very steep rise in terrain. Additionally, the Vovcha River lies in their path," explained Varan.

However, as the military officer noted, this will only be possible if the enemy breaks through, but currently, the Defense Forces units are holding them back.

"To understand the scale of the war happening here: in just the last 3-4 days, approximately 700 FPV drones and other drones were intercepted by stationary electronic warfare systems. We are not even counting FPV drones that fly via fiber optic cable or those FPV drones attacking our transport on distant front lines," he added.

Situation on the frontline

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, the enemy carried out 22 assaults in the Novopavlivka direction. The situation was particularly tense in the areas of Odradne, Vilne Pole, Bahatyr, Komar, as well as toward Zaporizhzhia, Myrne, and Shevchenko.

RBC-Ukraine has reported on the situation along each section of the frontline as of this morning.

The Russian army suffered losses of more than a thousand personnel over the past day.

In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed seven tanks, 31 armored fighting vehicles, 37 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system, 184 operational-tactical level UAVs, 23 missiles, and 137 units of enemy automotive equipment.
