The adversary currently holds up to 40 Kalibr missiles ready for launch. The threat of a missile attack remains very high, according to the Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk.

"The overall readiness of the Kalibr missiles could be estimated by us at up to 40, considering that 3 have already been used in one of the attacks. However, everything else is ready and can be deployed. The General Staff assesses the overall danger level as very high," she said.

Humeniuk added that the danger will persist as long as missile carriers are present in the Black Sea. According to her, Russian military forces are prepared to launch missiles even from the bays where ships are stationed.

The use of Kalibr missiles for shelling Ukraine

During the massed attack on the morning of January 2, Russians launched three Kalibr cruise missiles against Ukraine.

The low utilization of these types of missiles was attributed to the decreased logistical capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
