Russian army continues its attempts to advance on front lines - Zelenskyy

The Russian army is attempting to create the impression of a ceasefire, but continues its efforts to advance and inflict losses on Ukraine, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Between 18:00 Kyiv time yesterday and 00:00 today, there were 387 shelling incidents and 19 assault attempts by the Russian army. The Russians used drones 290 times," Zelenskyy informed about the situation on the front during the ceasefire.
The president also shared information from the morning report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to the president, the Russians continue shelling, and assault actions have also been recorded.
"On various fronts, there have already been 59 Russian shelling incidents and five assault attempts by Russian units. In the Operational-tactical group Starobilsk, one combat engagement was recorded, in the Operational-tactical group Donetsk, three combat engagements on the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions, and one in the Zaporizhzhia direction near Stepove. Dozens of FPV drone uses by the enemy were also recorded," the message states.
Additionally, artillery strikes and drone usage were reported in the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian army, in turn, is responding as Russia deserves in specific combat situations. Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine will continue to act symmetrically. Summarizing the initial results, full cessation of hostilities on the front has not yet occurred.
"Overall, as of Easter morning, we can state that the Russian army is trying to create the general impression of a ceasefire, but in some areas, it continues attempts to advance and inflict losses on Ukraine. Russia must fully comply with the terms of the ceasefire. Ukraine's proposal to implement and extend the ceasefire for 30 days after 24:00 today remains in force. We will act according to the real situation," the president concluded.
