Over the past three months, the rate of destruction of Russian air defense systems has increased 3.4 times, which directly affects the effectiveness of strikes by Ukraine's Defense Forces, OSINT analyst Kyle Glen reports.
Sharp increase in the destruction of air defense systems
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian forces have hit 85 units of air defense equipment, including surface-to-air missile systems and radar systems. The analyst cites this data based on the dashboard of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Dynamics in recent months
According to Glen, while in the second half of last year an average of about ten air defense systems were destroyed per month, in 2026 the figures have increased significantly. In January, 21 systems were hit, and in March, 39.
Impact on the situation on the front
The analyst noted that the increase is about 240 percent compared with the previous three months, which, according to him, almost certainly explains the increased effectiveness of Ukrainian long-range strikes.
Actual losses may be higher
At the same time, discussions under the publication indicate that the figures may be incomplete, as they only take into account data from the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Losses of Russian air defense systems inflicted by other units of the Defense Forces are not reflected in these calculations, which may mean even higher actual figures.
The mayor of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, confirmed that on the evening of April 5, the city was subjected to a massive attack by unidentified drones.
Russian troops have begun actively using new compact satellite communication terminals Spirit-030 on the front, which are harder to detect due to their small antennas.
