Russia withdraws some troops from Kharkiv region to Kursk direction - Ukraine's Forces
Russia has withdrawn some units from the Kharkiv region to the Kursk direction, but there are still enough enemy forces and resources in the Ukrainian region to continue assaults, according to a spokesperson for the operational-tactical grouping of troops Kharkiv Vitalii Sarantsev in an interview with Suspilne.
"Russians continue to shuffle their 'deck of cards,' but the forces and resources remaining in the Kharkiv direction are still substantial, and we cannot afford to relax. The Russians still hold considerable forces and firepower to inflict damage and continue their assaults," Sarantsev said.
According to him, there is also information that the enemy is moving additional reserves to the Kharkiv direction. However, details about the units and their numbers are still being clarified.
The spokesperson noted that while the activity of Russian troops has decreased in some areas of the front in the northern Kharkiv region, this does not mean they have been withdrawn. The Russian military is still digging trenches, camouflaging, and establishing communication.
"The most active area is the city of Vovchansk. In the nearby settlements, the Russian forces occasionally attempt assault actions. This includes the areas around Starytsia and the Tykhyi districts—both the right and left flanks of the Vovchansk direction. However, all Russian attempts are being stopped, and there has been no advancement," Sarantsev added.
Situation in the Kharkiv direction
Today, the operational-tactical Group Kharkiv reported that the situation in the Kharkiv direction remains extremely tense. Ukrainian defense forces continue to repel attacks by Russian occupation troops, conduct counterattacks, and take measures to strengthen defense resilience.
Recently, Deputy Commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, Maksym Zhorin, reported that the 3rd Assault Brigade carried out a counterattack in the Kharkiv region.
Yesterday, the brigade's press service confirmed that the Third Assault advanced nearly two square kilometers into the front. The troops repelled the enemy's strike from the direction of Makiivka and alleviated pressure from other critical areas of the front.
Ukrainian soldiers took control of a battalion defense area from the enemy, as well as enemy platoon and company strongholds.
