Russia will continue striking facilities critical to Ukrainian population - Interior Minister

Russia will continue striking Ukrainian facilities that are critical for the country’s infrastructure, according to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko on Telegram.
According to Klymenko, he had a substantive meeting with Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires in the US, Julia Davis.
They discussed continued support for Ukraine’s Interior Ministry agencies, with particular emphasis on US assistance for protecting energy infrastructure this fall and winter.
"Clearly, the enemy will continue targeting facilities critical for the population’s survival. This is Russia’s tactic of terror against civilians, and we must be ready for any scenario," the minister added.
He also noted that cooperation between Ukraine and the US allows the Interior Ministry to strengthen its capabilities across all areas.
Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector
Earlier this September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia had once again begun focusing its attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities. In particular, a thermal power plant in the Kyiv region was targeted.
The Ukrainian president also emphasized that Ukraine would respond to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. "No one will just endure the darkness," he said.
