Zelenskyy: Ukraine will respond to Russian energy strikes

Ukraine is responding to Russia’s strikes on its energy infrastructure and will continue to do so. It will not endure in the dark, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Uzhhorod.
"Ukraine is responding to Russian attacks on our energy facilities and will continue to respond," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine strongly wants the war with Russia to end.
"However, no one will simply endure in the dark," the President stressed.
Attacks on energy infrastructure
Since 2022, Russian forces have regularly targeted Ukraine’s energy sector.
In August, Russia resumed strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly stated that such attacks will continue and called on his partner, the Slovak Prime Minister, to cut gas and electricity supplies.
The Center for Countering Disinformation also noted that Russia may resume massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Putin is preparing an information alibi for this.
During his visit to Beijing, the Russian leader claimed that Russia has never struck the energy sector but only strikes back in response to Ukrainian attacks on the oil industry.
