The Russian army has increasingly begun using motorcycle columns and ground drones during assault operations in the Donetsk region, according to the State Border Guard Service.

"The enemy is testing a new tactic in the Donetsk region, using motorcycle columns and ground drones,” the border guards said.

According to the State Border Guard Service, operators of Feniks drones destroyed two enemy robotic complexes, a tank, a fortified position, and an entire group of motorcyclists.

It was noted that the new Russian tactic proved unsuccessful. Lately, the Russian forces have been using motorcycles for their assaults quite often, likely in an attempt to evade drone strikes, since it’s harder to hit many small targets than a single large one.

Russian army uses motorcycles on the front line

In March, Russian forces used 40 motorcycles in an attack in one direction of the front. During the winter, they began using this transport more actively at the front.

Recently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully stopped a Russian motorcycle breakthrough attempt near Kramatorsk, where drone operators eliminated 18 motorcyclists.

Earlier, Ukrainian drones disrupted an assault by the Russian army in the Toretsk direction, as they tried to reach Ukrainian positions on motorcycles. To prevent a repeat of such attacks, Ukrainian fighters destroyed the enemy’s equipment.
