The Russians have created a new modification of guided aerial bombs, which are allegedly immune to electronic warfare and can fly up to 200 kilometers, according to Serhii Beskrestnov, advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense.

"Russian guided bombs remain a problem for us. They have too many bombs and cause too much destruction. Of course, Russia understands this and is constantly improving them," Beskrestnov says.
According to him, the new versions of the guided aerial bombs UMPB-5 are based on the FAB-500 aerial bomb. The version with a jet engine can fly up to 200 kilometers, and without an engine, the guided bomb can glide up to 150 km.
"I want to emphasize that there is nothing technologically new here. But I would like to study their new electronic warfare protection system, which they are advertising," the advisor to the Ukrainian Defense Minister stresses.

Russia modernizing guided aerial bombs
On October 24, Russians used modified UMBP-5 guided aerial bombs for the first time in the Odesa region. Most of the bombs were shot down. Before that, on October 18, Russia struck Lozova in the Kharkiv region with a jet guided aerial bomb for the first time since the war began.
Ukraine is expected to get a new solution to counter Russian guided aerial bombs, namely a guided aerial bombs hunter, which is being developed jointly with NATO.
Russia uses Japanese and Chinese machine tools in the production of guided aerial bombs, missiles, and artillery ammunition.
