Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline situation as of December 3

Russian shelling

During the day of December 2, 88 armed clashes took place. In total, the adversary conducted 3 missile and 22 aerial strikes, carried out 53 barrages from rocket artillery systems targeting the positions of our forces and civilian settlements.

Last night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine, deploying 1 Kh-59 guided missile and 12 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type.

Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties among the civilian population. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.

The following were affected by the airstrikes:

• Kozacha Lopan, Petropavlivka (Kharkiv region),
• Shcherbynivka, Avdiivka and Peremoha (Donetsk region).

Over 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

The frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains a military presence in border areas, actively engages in sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to critical sectors, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted assault operations in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region, where the defense forces successfully repelled 7 attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Serebrianske Forestry Area in the Luhansk region, where the defense forces repelled 4 attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, the adversary carried out assault operations in the areas of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka, in the Donetsk region, where defense forces successfully repelled 21 attacks. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment, and consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, persists in attempts to encircle Avdiivka. But our troops steadfastly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

Unsuccessful were the offensive actions of the adversary in areas south of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Severne, to the south from Tonenke and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, where defense forces repelled 25 attacks.

In the Maryinka direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Defense forces repelled 11 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Vuhledar and Staromayorske in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 3 attacks in this area.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted 12 unsuccessful assaults to regain the lost positions near Robotyne and Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.

In the Kherson direction, defense forces maintain their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, engage in counter-battery warfare, and deliver fire strikes on the enemy's rear.

Enemy losses

During the past day, December 2, Ukrainian missile forces conducted 2 strikes on personnel concentration areas. 1 command post, 3 ammunition depots and 4 enemy artillery systems were hit.

Ukrainian air defense forces also destroyed 1 Kh-59 guided missile.

The total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is reported to be 331,110 soldiers.
