Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of November 12

Russian invaders conducted assault operations on six fronts; however, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled them, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russians attacks
During the day, 61 combat clashes occurred. In total, the enemy launched three missile strikes and 27 airstrikes, carrying out 43 shelling attacks from rocket artillery systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffered destruction and damage. There are casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
The frontline situation
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, there are no significant changes in the operational situation. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Identified units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage-reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border of Ukraine.
Artillery and mortar shelling affected approximately 15 populated areas, including Klusy in the Chernihiv region; Starykove, Basivka, Zapsillia, and Myropillia in the Sumy region; Vovchansk, Nesterne, and Dvorichanske in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted assault operations in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight attacks. About 10 populated areas, including Novomyrhorod, Synkivka, Kyslivka, Krokhmalne, and Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Novoehorivka in the Luhansk region, where Ukrainian Forces repelled four attacks. The adversary carried out air strikes in the Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk region and Siversk in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, as well as Verkhniokamianske, Viyimka, Fedorivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted assault operations in the areas of Dubovo-Vasylivka, east of Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian Defenders repelled six attacks. Over 15 populated areas, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, and New York in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Avdiivka and Siverske in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks. Approximately 15 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Orlivka, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Opytne, and Siverske in the Donetsk r,egion came under enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks. Under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers were about 10 populated areas in the Donetsk region, including Horlivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Antonivka, and Yelyzavetivka.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks. Additionally, the adversary carried out aviation strikes near Urozhaine and Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy delivered aviation strikes in the areas of Novodanylivka and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 populated areas, including Levadne, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novopavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Kamyanske in the Zaporizhzhia region, experienced enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out aviation strikes in the areas of the populated centers of Kherson, Berislav, Tyahinka, and Ivanivka in the Kherson region. Artillery shelling affected Kherson, Antonivka in the Kherson region, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction. The Armed Forces of Ukraine inflict losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
Emergency events
In the city of Starobilsk in the Luhansk region, occupiers are conducting mobilization of local residents into the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The men in the city are trying by any means to avoid conscription into military service, such as quitting their jobs, hiding, or leaving for other populated areas.
Those citizens who were mobilized and could not evade military service are being sent for military training to the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation.
Enemy losses
During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces delivered four strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy. Additionally, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed one guided aviation missile X-59.
Units of the missile troops inflicted hits on two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as three enemy ammunition depots.
