Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 19

Ukrainian Forces continue to defend the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, with offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. In the past 24 hours, there have been approximately 80 combat engagements, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
Over the past day, the enemy conducted 15 missile strikes and 79 airstrikes, as well as 61 artillery shelling using multiple rocket launchers, targeting our troops' positions and populated areas.
Regrettably, due to the Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings, two churches, a cultural center, a sports complex, more than 20 private houses, and other civilian infrastructure have suffered significant damage and destruction.
The following locations were subjected to airstrikes: Pisky in the Kharkiv region; Nevske, Novolyubivka, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Spirne, Kamianka, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Dyliyivka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromayorske, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Novoberyslav, Kozatske, Olhivka, Prydniprovske, and Piskschanivka in the Kherson region.
Approximately 130 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were affected by artillery fire.
The frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group North in the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains a military presence in border areas and conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to critical directions. They are also increasing the density of mines and explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, Ukrainian forces repelled over 15 enemy attacks in the areas of the populated localities of Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region. Additionally, they thwarted more than 10 enemy attacks near Nadiia in the Luhansk region in the Kupiansk direction.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 5 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost position in the area of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment while holding their achieved positions.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Tavria in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy persists in their efforts, with air support, to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian troops repelled 3 enemy attacks. Additionally, the enemy's offensive actions in the areas of Novokalynove and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful.
In the Maryinka direction, our defenders repelled 17 enemy attacks in the area of Maryinka and an additional 4 attacks in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers thwarted enemy attacks in Novomayorske in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders are holding off occupiers in the regions of Novodarivka and east of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Odesa in the Kherson front, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to engage in counter-battery combat, delivering fire strikes against enemy rear positions.
Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction. They have achieved partial success southwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region, inflicting casualties on occupying forces in both personnel and equipment and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
Enemy losses
During the day, the Air Forces of the Defense Forces conducted 15 strikes on areas with concentrations of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment and 3 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile complexes. Additionally, our defenders destroyed a Russian Su-25 aircraft and 5 operational-tactical level reconnaissance UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
Missile troops units hit 2 command posts, the anti-aircraft missile complex Tor, the Zoopark-1M radar station, and 11 enemy artillery systems.
