Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 15

Russia's attacks

During the past day, there were 57 combat clashes. The enemy launched seven missile strikes and 54 aerial attacks, and conducted 22 shelling attacks using multiple rocket launcher systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.

As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage and destruction.

The frontline situation

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains complex.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged without significant developments. No signs of enemy offensive groupings have been detected. Units of the armed forces of Belarus have been identified performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, continues to shell populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. More than 15 populated areas have been subjected to artillery and mortar fire by the enemy, including Popivka, Shalyhine in the Sumy region, Udy, Vovchansky Khutory, Hatysche, and Budarky.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled more than 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region. Additionally, the enemy conducted aviation strikes near Pishchane in the Kharkiv region and Nadiya in the Luhansk region. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Kamianka, Synkivka, Kucherivka, and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated places Druzheliubivka and Cherneshchyna in the Kharkiv region, as well as Bilohorivka, Serebrianske Lisnytstvo, Novoliubivka in the Luhansk region, and Hryhorivka, Siversk, and Spirne in the Donetsk region. Over 10 populated areas were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Rozdolivka, Novosadove, Torske, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Klishchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultynoho, Bila Hora, and Dyliivka in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Vasiukivka, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, the occupiers carried out unsuccessful storming actions with aviation support in the areas of the populated places Avdiivka, Keramik, Stepove, Tonenke, and Sverne in the Donetsk region. Overall, the Ukrainian forces repelled over 15 enemy attacks in this sector. The invaders conducted aviation strikes near Ocheretyne and Stepove in the Donetsk region. Approximately 15 populated areas, including Ocheretyne, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, experienced artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy.

In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled over 15 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Mariinka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Mariinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy attack in the region north of Pryiutne in the Donetsk region. The populated areas Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Makarivka, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy attempted three times to regain lost ground in the area near Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region but was unsuccessful. More than 15 populated areas, including Hulyai-Pole, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka, Robotyne, and Stepove in the Zaporizhzhia region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Kherson direction, the occupiers carried out aviation strikes in the areas of populated areas Burhunka, Odradokamianka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Stepanivka in the Kherson region, and Ivanivka in the Mykolaiv region. Hostile artillery and mortar shelling affected Zolota Balka, Kherson, and Chornobaivka in the Kherson region.

Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, conducting offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction. They inflict losses on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, and wear down the enemy along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

Over the course of a day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 15 strikes on areas with concentrations of personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, as well as one strike on an enemy air defense missile system.

Missile units targeted the area with concentrations of personnel, equipment, military vehicles, a radar station, and four enemy artillery systems.
