Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 3

Russian shelling

During the past 24 hours, there were 35 combat engagements.

In total, the enemy launched 8 missile strikes and 47 airstrikes, conducting 27 artillery shelling using rocket artillery systems, targeting both our military positions and civilian objects within our country.

Additionally, the Russian Federation launched 7 drone strikes of the Shahed-136/131 type from the southeast direction. Our air defense system successfully neutralized 4 enemy Shahed drones.

Regrettably, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage and destruction.

The frontline situation

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains complex.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas and actively conducts subversive activities to prevent the transfer of our forces to critical directions. They are increasing the density of mines and explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the OCUV "Khortytsia" in the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the area near the settlement of Makivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost ground in the Andriivka area of the Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of the OCUV "Tavriya" in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy tried to regain lost ground in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region but was unsuccessful. Additionally, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the area east of Stepove in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted 10 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near Staromykhailivka and Rivnopillia in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost ground west of Verbove and southeast of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, carrying out offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, consolidating their positions on captured frontlines, and wearing down the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the OSUV "Odesa" in the Kherson direction, the defense forces engage in counter-battery warfare, destroy supply depots, and successfully strike at the enemy's rear areas.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 11 strikes on areas with the concentration of personnel, weaponry, military equipment, and 1 strike on an anti-aircraft missile complex of the enemy.

Units of the missile troops hit 2 areas with the concentration of personnel, weaponry, military equipment, a command post, 2 electronic warfare stations, and 4 artillery pieces of the enemy.

It should be noted that the total number of casualties in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion amounts to 279,080 military personnel.
