Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 1

Russian occupiers launched 8 missile strikes and 99 airstrikes over the past day, conducting 45 shelling attacks from rocket artillery systems, targeting both our military positions and civilian objects in our state. During the past day, there were 38 armed clashes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
Russia launched another attack on Ukraine, using approximately 40 Iranian UAVs Shahed-136/131 from the southern direction. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 30 Shaheds within the territories of the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia regions.
Unfortunately, there have been casualties among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
Aviation strikes hit the following locations: Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region; Novoselivske, Nevske, Novoliubivka, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Zarichne, Siversk, Spirne, Vesele, Kostiantynivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Urozhaine, Stariomaiorske in the Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.
More than 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions have been subjected to artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group in the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the relocation of our forces to critical directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy has not conducted offensive actions.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions in the Klishchiivka area of the Luhansk region.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region and improve its tactical position east of Stepove. The enemy conducted over 10 failed attacks in the Maryinka area of the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy has not conducted offensive (storming) actions.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions in the Novodarivka area of the Zaporizhia region and improve its tactical position west of Verbove.
Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupying troops in personnel and equipment, and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defense forces are engaged in counter-battery combat, destroying warehouses and successfully targeting enemy rear positions.
Ukrainian advance
Ukrainian defense forces continue to defend in the east and south of Ukraine, carry out offensive operations in the Melitopol direction and offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction, destroy the enemy, gradually liberate temporarily occupied territories, and consolidate their positions.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Ukrainian defense forces' aviation conducted 17 strikes on personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration areas, and 8 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
Missile troops hit 6 anti-aircraft missile systems, 10 artillery units, and 3 ammunition depots.
