Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 30

Over the past day, December 29, 151 combat engagements took place along the front. The fiercest fighting between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian forces occurred in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, yesterday the enemy carried out 47 air strikes, dropping 129 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it conducted 3,651 shelling attacks, including 62 using multiple-launch rocket systems, and employed 5,287 kamikaze drones in strikes.
Air strikes hit areas near the settlements of Bezdrik in the Sumy region; Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Sloviansk and Mykolaivka in the Donetsk region; and Barvinivka, Nove Pole, Sviatopetrivka, Zaliznychne, and Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over the past day, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces struck an area where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
Situation on the frontlines
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, two combat engagements occurred over the past day; the enemy also carried out 83 shelling attacks on our troops' positions and populated areas.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 12 attacks near Vovchanski Khutory, Vovchansk, Starytsia, Prylipky, and toward the settlements of Izbytske and Kolodiazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, five enemy attacks occurred yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled assault actions near the settlement of Pishchane and toward Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 10 times, attempting to break into our defenses in the areas around the settlements of Kolodiazi and Zarichne, and toward Yampil.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped three enemy attacks in the area of Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, no offensive actions by the invading forces were recorded.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 17 attacks in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Kostiantynivka and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 43 aggressor assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Pankivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoserhiivka, and toward Filiia.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, over the past day, the enemy carried out 13 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Tovste, Oleksandrohrad, Verbove, and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces repelled 25 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Solodke, Huliaipole, and Bilohiria.
In the Orikhiv direction, two combat engagements took place — the enemy attempted to advance near Stepove and Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Russian forces twice attempted to move forward but were repelled.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
Russian losses in the war
Ukrainian defenders are inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces in manpower and equipment, systematically weakening the enemy's offensive capabilities, including in its rear.
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost about 1,206,910 military personnel.
Over the past day alone, December 29, Russian losses amounted to 1,220 personnel.
In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed five tanks, four armored combat vehicles, 19 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, about 400 operational-tactical drones, 119 units of motor vehicles, and one unit of special equipment belonging to the enemy.
