Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 13

As of 4:00 PM on December 13, 53 combat engagements have occurred along the front since the start of the day. Ukrainian forces have already repelled most Russian attacks, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, Russian artillery strikes hit several populated areas, including:
- Hrynivka, Klyusy, Karpovychi, and Liskivshchyna in the Chernihiv region;
- Bobylivka, Bila Bereza, Vovkivka, Brusky, Ryzhivka, Neskuchne, Rohizne, and Volfyne in the Sumy region.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, two combat engagements occurred. The enemy carried out two airstrikes, dropped four guided aerial bombs, and conducted 78 shelling attacks.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched five attacks near Prylipka and Vovchansk and toward Synelnykove. One battle is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made a single unsuccessful attempt to push Ukrainian units from their positions toward Monachynivka.
In the Lyman direction, there were seven combat engagements today. Russian units attacked near Novyi Myr, Novoselivka, Drobysheve, and Zarichne, with fighting continuing at three locations.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces carried out three attacks near Yampil, Serebrianka, and toward Platonivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks. The enemy tried to advance near Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, and toward Kostiantynivka and Oleksandro-Shultyne, with one battle still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops attempted to advance 19 times against Ukrainian positions near Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Dachne, and toward Sofiivka, Novyi-Shakhove, Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Ukrainian forces have repelled 18 attacks, with one battle continuing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Verbove, Pryvilne, and toward Oleksandrorad and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy attack toward Dobropillia.
In the Kramatorsk, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
In other directions, there were no significant changes.
Fighting for Pokrovsk
Earlier today, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Ukrainian forces have retaken about 16 square kilometers in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, over the past few weeks.
Notably, yesterday, on December 12, Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov arrived in central Pokrovsk and claimed that Russian forces had fully occupied the city. However, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces later rejected this, stating that the enemy had not breached defenses in the north. Ukrainian troops also used a drone to knock down a Russian flag without encountering any resistance.
