Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 5

Over the past 24 hours, on November 5, there were 260 combat engagements along various frontlines, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Telegram.
Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 43 airstrikes, using 5 missiles and dropping 94 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 2,351 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,177 shellings of Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two enemy assault attempts. The enemy also carried out nine airstrikes, dropping 22 guided bombs, and conducted 154 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including nine using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched 14 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Vovchansk, Bolohivka, and toward Synelnykove.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces carried out offensive actions toward Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Nova Kruhliakivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Defense Forces positions 26 times near Kolodiazi, Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Karpivka, Derylove, Myrne, Shandryholove, Zarichne, and toward Korovyn Yar and Drobysheve.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy assault attempts. The occupiers tried to advance near Yampil, Dronivka, Siversk, Serebrianka, Pereizne, and toward Zvanivka.
Six enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian forces near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Fedorivka, and toward Stupochky in the Kramatorsk direction.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched 33 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 31 times near Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Piddubne, Sichneve, Oleksandrohrad, Vorone, Sosnivka, Stepove, Verbove, Pryvilne, Novohryhorivka, and Pershotravneve.
In the Huliaipole direction, 12 combat engagements were recorded near Novomykolaivka, Uspenivka, Okhotnych, and Zelenyi Hai.
In the Orikhiv direction, there was one combat engagement, with the enemy attempting to advance near Stepove.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, Ukrainian units repelled two enemy assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the General Staff, measures are ongoing in Pokrovsk to block enemy forces attempting to infiltrate the city. Territorial defenses have been reinforced, with additional assault units deployed.
Since the start of the day, Russian forces have attempted 93 times to advance on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Mayak, Nikanorivka, Fedorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myroliubivka, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Muravka, Filiya, and Yalta.
On November 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian defenders are systematically destroying enemy forces in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, and surrounding areas. All components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are contributing to eliminating Russian troops and defending the city.
