Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 5

Over the past 24 hours, from November 4 to 5, there were 154 combat engagements on the frontline. Russian forces are attacking in 12 directions, with the heaviest fighting concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian forces launched one missile strike and 51 airstrikes, used six missiles, and dropped 86 guided aerial bombs. The enemy carried out 4,618 attacks, including 133 with multiple launch rocket systems. Nearly 6,000 kamikaze drones were also used in the attacks.
Areas of the settlements in Zemlianka, Sumy region; Tarasivka, Chernihiv region; Pokrovske and Oleksiivka, Dnipropetrovsk region; as well as Solodke, Polohy, Ternuvate, and Rivnopillia, Zaporizhzhia region, came under Russian airstrikes.
In response, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck five areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons, and equipment, nine artillery systems, and one additional important target of the adversary.
Situation on the fronts
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out eight airstrikes, dropping a total of 15 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 163 attacks, including ten with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Synelnykove, and Dvorichanske.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were five enemy attacks yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled assault actions near the settlements of Pishchane, Borivska, Andriivka, and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked ten times, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novoselivka, Korovii Yar, Drobysheve, and toward Lyman.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 17 enemy attacks near Serebrianka, Vyimka, Pereizne, Siversk, and toward Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one combat engagement took place in the area of the settlement of Stupochky.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Ivanopillia, Yablunivka, and toward the settlements of Berestok and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 52 enemy assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Rodynske, Lysivka, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Novoukrainka, and Dachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks yesterday against the settlements of Yehorivka, Novoivanovka, Yalta, Sosnivka, Stepove, Verbove, and Novohryhorivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks in the Novomykolaivka area.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy made three attempts to break through the Ukrainian forces' defenses in the areas of Stepove and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped three enemy attacks on Defense Forces positions toward the Antonivka Road Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formation were detected.
Enemy losses
In total, over the past day, Russian forces lost 900 personnel.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed three tanks, three armored combat vehicles, 24 artillery systems, two air defense systems, 398 operational-tactical uncrewed aerial vehicles, and 70 units of the enemy's automotive equipment.
