Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 19

As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on October 19, a total of 151 combat clashes were recorded along the front line during the day, with one-third of them taking place in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces launched one missile strike and 60 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 128 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 2,371 kamikaze drones and shelled Ukrainian positions and populated areas 3,604 times.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy assault attempts since the beginning of the day. The enemy also carried out two airstrikes, dropping six guided bombs, and launched 129 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, one of which was from a multiple launch rocket system.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched 10 assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tykhe, Kamyanka, and in the direction of Dvorichanske and Boholivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army carried out three offensive operations toward Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Defense Forces positions five times near the settlements of Drobysheve, Serednie, and Myrne.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy assault as the Russian army attempted to advance in the area of Serebrianka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian troops launched 17 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Pleschiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka — all of which were successfully repelled by Ukrainian forces.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces made 53 attempts since the beginning of the day to advance on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Filiia, Promin, Lysivka, Molodetske, Dachne, and toward Novopavlivka.
“According to preliminary reports, 44 enemy troops were neutralized in this area, 27 of them killed. Ukrainian forces also destroyed two artillery systems, 19 UAVs, three vehicles, and five pieces of special equipment. Additionally, 11 personnel shelters, one electronic warfare station, eight vehicles, and one enemy artillery system were hit,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Russian forces attempted 22 assaults to break through Ukrainian defenses near the settlements of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Voskresenka, Orestopil, Oleksandrohrad, Vyshneve, Verbove, Sichneve, Vorone, Sosnivka, and Novohryhorivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy carried out three unsuccessful assaults near the settlement of Malynivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces launched a single attack on Ukrainian defensive positions near the settlement of Plavni.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy made three futile attempts to approach Ukrainian defense positions in the direction of the Antonivskyi Bridge.
Russian army losses
Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on the enemy.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of October 19, the Russian army lost 1,000 soldiers in a single day. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, total losses are estimated at 1.1 million personnel.
RBC-Ukraine, citing the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been successfully destroying Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempting to infiltrate Pokrovsk.
