Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 15

Despite hundreds of combat clashes and massive strikes by drones, aviation, and artillery, the Ukrainian Armed Forces maintained their positions on the most critical fronts on October 15, from Pokrovsk to Kupiansk, according to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, 154 combat engagements were recorded along the front. In addition, the enemy carried out 1 missile strike and 58 air strikes, dropped 106 guided bombs, deployed 2,211 kamikaze drones, and conducted 3,676 artillery attacks on Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and populated areas.
Hottest directions on the front
The Pokrovsk direction became the epicenter of fighting - the enemy attacked 42 times, 38 of which were successfully repelled, with two clashes still ongoing. Preliminary data indicate that the invaders lost 138 soldiers, 4 pieces of equipment were destroyed, 3 drones were shot down, and enemy artillery systems and fortifications were damaged.
Oleksandrivka direction – Ukrainian Armed Forces have already repelled 26 enemy attacks near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Oleksiivka, Novomykolaivka, Novohryhorivka, Malynivka, and Poltavka. Two clashes are still ongoing.
Kostiantynivka direction – 22 attacks were recorded in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, and Rusyn-Yar. All assaults were repelled.
Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction – 14 breakthrough attempts, with fighting continuing near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Kutkivka.
Sloviansk direction – Ukrainian forces repelled nine enemy attacks. Russian units attempted to advance near the settlements of Serebrianka, Yampil, Dronivka, Vyimka, and Fedorivka.
Lyman direction – 6 assaults, all stopped in the areas of Hrekivka and Novoselivka.
Where the situation was more stable
Huliaipole direction – no combat clashes recorded.
Prydniprovskyi direction – 4 attacks repelled, the enemy failed to gain a foothold.
Orikhiv direction – 5 assault attempts, all unsuccessful for the enemy.
Kupiansk direction – only 3 failed attempts to advance near Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka.
During the NATO defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed as part of the Legion operation to support Ukraine.
The document formalizes cooperation between the Northern and Baltic states, as well as Poland and Ukraine, to strengthen coordination efforts. The initiative envisions coordinated political and military measures to provide effective support to Ukraine.
Notably, Latvia recently delivered a new batch of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including 1,300 drones specially manufactured to order for Ukrainian troops.
