Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 24

Since the start of the day, 78 combat engagements have taken place on the front. The hottest area remains the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian soldiers’ positions near Vovchansk twice, and one combat engagement is ongoing. The settlement of Shypuvate came under a KAB airstrike.
In the Kupiansk direction, five attacks continue on Ukrainian troops’ positions in the areas of Kotliarivka and toward Pishchane and Kolisnykivka.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian army attacked 14 times near Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Shandryholove, Novoselivka, Derylove, and Zarichne. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled seven attempts by the enemy to advance, and fighting continues.
In the Siversk direction, Russian troops tried to break through in the areas of Serebrianka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Dronivka and Yampil; five of seven attacks are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the Chasiv Yar area but was repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attempted to advance seven times in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Yablunivka. The enemy struck Kostiantynivka with KAB bombs.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, Russian troops made 28 attempts to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions in the areas of Poltavka, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Sukhetske, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Horikhove. Ukrainian soldiers are holding back the enemy and have repelled 27 attacks. Russian aviation struck Dobropillia.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked five times near Voskresenka, Sichneve, Vorone, Ternove, and Novohryhorivka. Currently, one engagement is ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attempts by enemy units to advance in the area of Olhivske.
In the Orikhiv direction, no enemy offensive actions have been recorded at this time.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks by the Russian army, with one engagement ongoing. Enemy aviation also carried out airstrikes on Olhivka.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 1,104,550 military personnel.
In particular, over the past day, the Russian army lost 970 soldiers. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 2 tanks, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 43 artillery systems, 1 MLRS, 2 aircraft, 334 drones, and other enemy equipment.
