Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 21

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time, there were 123 combat engagements on the front. The Pokrovsk direction remained the most active, while Ukrainian forces repelled all Russian attacks in the Toretsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
The Russian army carried out 46 airstrikes, dropping 85 guided aerial bombs. They also used 2,480 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,636 attacks on settlements and Ukrainian military positions.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks. The enemy carried out 12 airstrikes, dropped 31 guided aerial bombs, and launched 143 attacks, including 11 with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian units held off ten enemy attacks near Vovchansk, Tykhe, and toward Odradne.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces stopped 12 assaults near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Torske, and Novoselivka. Five combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Russian forces are attempting to advance near Serebrianka. Fighting continues.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attempts to advance toward Stupochky and Novomarkove.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces assaulted Ukrainian positions nine times today near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Poltavka, and Toretsk. Ukrainian forces held firm and repelled all attacks.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducted 34 offensive actions near Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Chunyshyne, Zvirove, Udachne, Kotlyne, and Dachne. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.
"Preliminary data indicate that 167 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction today, including 98 irreversibly. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 23 drones and one vehicle, and struck four artillery systems, five vehicles, three UAV command posts, and nine personnel shelters," the General Staff reports.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian units repelled 13 attacks near Filiia, Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Maliivka, Sichneve, Komyshuvakha, Vorone, Novomykolaivka, and Zaporizke. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy attacks near Olhivske.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian army attempted six advances on Ukrainian positions near Kamianske and toward Mala Tokmachka and Novodanilivka. Two combat engagements remain ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, no combat engagements have been recorded.
Russian army losses
Over the past days, from September 20 to 21, Russian forces have lost 1,010 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 25 artillery systems, 553 drones, and 77 vehicles.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Russian army's losses have exceeded 1.1 million personnel.
