Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 21: +1,010 troops and 553 UAVs

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to inflict significant losses on the Russian army at the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
The Ukrainian military command emphasizes that the daily destruction of enemy personnel and equipment significantly weakens the offensive capabilities of the invaders while strengthening the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, released on September 21, Russian forces lost an additional 1,010 troops over the past day.
Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 25 artillery systems, 553 enemy drones, and one tank.
As a result, total combat losses of Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to September 21, 2025, in the war against Ukraine amount to approximately 1,101,610 personnel.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to September 21, 2025, are estimated to be:
- Personnel - approximately 1,101,610 (+1,010) Russian troops were eliminated;
- Tanks - 11,193 (+1);
- Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,281 (+1);
- Artillery systems - 32,952 (+25);
- MLRS - 1,492;
- Anti-aircraft systems - 1,218;
- Aircraft - 422;
- Helicopters - 341;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 61,598 (+553);
- Cruise missiles - 3,747 (+29);
- Warships/boats - 28;
- Submarines - 1;
- Vehicles and fuel tanks - 62,245 (+77);
- Special equipment - 3,969 (+1).
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, on September 20 there were 125 combat engagements on the front. The highest number of clashes was recorded in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lyman directions.
During an operation on the Dobropillia direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to liberate seven settlements from the occupiers, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.
In addition, Russian troops are attempting to advance in the Kupiansk direction while expending significant resources in the Pokrovsk area.
