Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 21

Over the past 24 hours, there were 151 clashes on the front. Russian forces launched missiles and bombs, attacked with drones, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled mass assaults and struck back, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the past day, Russian troops carried out one missile strike using 37 missiles, 71 airstrikes, and dropped 120 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy conducted 4,785 artillery attacks, including 86 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 6,322 kamikaze drones.
The areas of Bilohiria in Zaporizhzhia region and Kozatske in Kherson region were hit by airstrikes.
In response, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck a drone control station and four areas of enemy personnel and equipment concentration.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, seven battles took place. The enemy carried out ten airstrikes, dropping 15 guided bombs, and conducted 218 artillery attacks, including one from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, and in the directions of Zapadne and Bochkove.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were four enemy attacks toward Myrne.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attempted to advance 15 times in the areas of Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, and in the direction of Novoselivka.
In the Siversk direction, six assaults were repelled in the areas of Dronivka and Serebrianka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, three battles were recorded near Stupochky and Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked 15 times in the areas of Ivanopillia, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Rusyn Yar, Poltavka, Sofiivka, and in the direction of Berestka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 52 clashes occurred. The enemy acted in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, Nove Shakhove, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novoukrainka, as well as in the directions of Pokrovsk, Kozatske, and Novopavlivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops stopped 22 assaults in the areas of Myrne, Piddubne, Filia, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, Maliivka, Komyshuvakha, Novoivanivka, and in the directions of Berezove and Novovasylivske.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions six times in the areas of Poltavka and Olhivske.
In the Orikhiv direction, one attack was repelled near Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to advance toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of enemy strike groups were recorded.
Recall that over the past day, Russian forces lost another 1,010 personnel. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 25 artillery systems, 553 enemy drones, and one tank.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that during operations in the Dobropillia direction, Ukrainian troops managed to liberate seven settlements from occupiers. The general noted that Ukrainian forces advanced 3 to 7 kilometers into Russian defensive positions.
Recently, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian defenders are conducting counteroffensive operations near Dobropillia and in the Pokrovsk area.
