On September 6, Ukrainian forces repelled 129 Russian attacks across the country. The hottest fronts remained in the Southern-Slobozhanskyi, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, and Lyman directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time, 129 combat engagements had occurred since the start of the day. Ukrainian soldiers resolutely resisted Russian attempts to advance into the country, inflicting significant fire damage.

Over the course of the day, Russian troops carried out:

  • 1 missile strike;
  • 57 airstrikes.

The Russian army used three missiles and dropped 83 guided aerial bombs to carry out these attacks. They also deployed 1,946 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,754 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops repelled three Russian assaults.

The enemy also carried out eight airstrikes, dropping 20 guided bombs, and conducted 201 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the Russian army launched five assaults near Vovchansk, Ambarne, Kamianka, and toward Novovasylivka. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted offensives near Kupiansk and toward Novoplatonivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled five attacks, with one engagement still active.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 10 times near Hrekivka, Karpivka, Kolodyazi, Torske, and toward Shandryholove and Derylove. Fighting continues in five locations.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled nine enemy attacks near Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, Pereizne, and toward Dronivka. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, eight combat engagements were recorded. The enemy tried to advance toward Bondarne, Virolubivka, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched 10 assaults near Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Rusyn Yar, Poltavka, and toward Pleshchiivka. Ukrainian forces repelled nine attacks, with one engagement ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted 36 advances since the start of the day. Attacks targeted Shakhove, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, and toward Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, and Filiia. Two engagements remain active.

Preliminary reports indicate 138 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction today, including 80 permanently. Ukrainian forces also destroyed four armored combat vehicles, 10 trucks, 14 drones, and four specialized vehicles. One artillery piece and four enemy shelters were also damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attempted 17 breakthroughs near Zelenyi Hai, Tolstyi, Maliivka, Shevchenko, Komyshuvakha, and toward Filiia, Oleksandrohrad, and Novoselivka. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack toward Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy conducted no offensives.

In other directions, the situation remained largely unchanged.

Russian army losses

As a reminder, from September 5 to 6, Russian forces lost another 960 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed 39 artillery systems, 256 drones, and 119 units of vehicles.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the Russian army's losses have reached nearly 1.1 million personnel.

It is also worth noting that this evening, the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed a new Russian tactic aimed at capturing Pokrovsk.
