As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on August 29, there were 120 combat clashes on the front during the day. The highest number of battles was recorded in the Lyman and Pokrovsk directions, according to the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

According to the General Staff, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 49 air strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, using four missiles and 78 guided bombs. There were 1,420 attacks by kamikaze drones, and the enemy conducted 3,352 artillery strikes.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy assault actions, and one clash is still ongoing.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks in the areas of Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and towards Fyholivka and Kutkivka. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted four times to push our units from their positions towards Kupiansk.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out 25 attacks, trying to advance in the areas of Karpivka, Kolodyazi, Zarichne, Yampil, and towards Druzhliubivka, Shandryholove, Dronivka, Serebrianka, and Hryhorivka. Eleven engagements are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, our forces stopped three attacks near Hryhorivka and Pereizne, and another battle is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped two enemy attempts to advance towards Stupochky and Predtechyne.

The enemy tried ten times to break into our defenses in the Toretsk direction in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Dylivka, and towards Kleban Byk, Katerynivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.

During the day, in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army carried out 33 assault and offensive actions in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Mayak, Zapovidne, Sukhetske, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoukrainka, and in the directions of Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka. Currently, fighting continues in four locations.

“According to preliminary estimates, in this direction, Ukrainian forces have neutralized 114 Russian soldiers, of whom 84 were eliminated permanently. An artillery system, two vehicles, four motorcycles, and 33 drones have been destroyed. In addition, four artillery systems, one motorcycle, and three enemy personnel shelters have been damaged,” the report said.

In the Novopavlivka direction, our defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of Voskresenka, Zaporizke, and towards Filiya and Oleksandrohrad; six engagements are still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole direction, no enemy offensive actions were recorded.

In the Orikhiv direction, six clashes took place -the enemy attempted to advance near Stepove and towards Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack by the Russian army.

Russian army losses

From August 28 to 29, the Russian forces lost another 850 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 61 artillery systems, 414 drones, and 109 vehicles.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russian army's losses have reached nearly 1.1 million personnel.
