Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 28

There have been 131 combat engagements across the front line since the beginning of July 28. In the Pokrovsk direction alone, Russian forces launched 42 assault and offensive operations, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy carried out five missile strikes, 70 airstrikes, and launched eight missiles and 107 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces conducted 1,376 kamikaze drone attacks and 4,015 artillery and mortar shellings.
Situation by directions:
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled seven enemy attacks; one engagement is ongoing. The enemy carried out eight airstrikes using 25 guided bombs and launched 267 shelling attacks.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks near Zelenyi and Krasne Pershe.
In the Kupiansk direction, four Russian attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces near Stepova Novoselivka, Kindrashivka, and Lozova were repelled; one battle is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, enemy forces launched 23 attacks in areas around Novoyehorivka, Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, and toward Dronivka and Serebrianka. One clash is still underway.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian troops stopped four attacks near Hryhorivka and toward Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy push toward Predtechyne. Kostiantynivka was hit by an airstrike.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces tried seven times to break through near Dyliivka, Toretsk, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 42 assault and offensive actions in areas near Popiv Yar, Maiak, Novoekonomichne, Razine, Lysivka, Chunyshyne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Horikhove, Zelenyi Kut, and Dachne. Fighting is ongoing at eight locations. The village of Svitle was hit by an airstrike.
Preliminary estimates indicate Ukrainian forces eliminated 149 Russian troops in this direction, including 96 irrecoverable losses. Three vehicles, two motorcycles, 32 drones, two satellite communication terminals, a UAV control antenna, and three personnel shelters were destroyed. One ATV and five more enemy communication terminals were damaged.
In the Novopavlivka direction, eight enemy attacks were repelled near Zelenyi Hai, Zelene Pole, Piddubne, Oleksandrohrad, Shevchenko, Voskresenka, and Temyrivka; six battles are still in progress. An airstrike targeted the village of Ternove.
In the Huliaipole direction, no offensive actions were recorded.
In the Orikhiv direction, one engagement occurred near Kamianske, with enemy attempts to advance.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five attacks by Russian troops.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,050,250 troops.
In the past 24 hours alone, the Russian army lost 1,000 soldiers. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 4 tanks, 1 armored combat vehicle, 4 artillery systems, 235 drones, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
