Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 27

The front line has endured one of its most intense days. Russian forces intensified their activity, launching 58 airstrikes, with 118 combat clashes and over 5,000 enemy attacks reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The situation along the front remains extremely tense.
In just one day, Russian forces carried out 58 airstrikes on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, using 86 guided aerial bombs. The enemy also launched 1,431 kamikaze drone attacks and more than 3,875 artillery strikes, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses along the entire front line.
In addition, 118 combat engagements took place along the front line over the past day. Despite the intense pressure, Ukrainian defenders are bravely holding their positions, successfully repelling numerous attacks and inflicting losses on the enemy.
Frontline situation
The fiercest fighting is in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy launched 39 assault and offensive operations over the past day. Ukrainian forces are reporting high enemy activity near Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Myrnohrad, and Rodynske. Russian troops are trying to break through the defense using aerial bombs and assault groups. Preliminary estimates suggest the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 80 enemy troops, including 57 killed, and also destroyed enemy equipment and drones.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted 14 assaults, with battles ongoing near Hrekivka, Seredne, and Shandryholove.
The Kursk and Slobozhanskyi directions remain active as well, with a total of 9 attacks, one of which is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, there were 10 breakthrough attempts in the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Yablunivka.
In the Kramatorsk, Siversk, Kupiansk, and Novopavlivka directions, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled a series of attacks, including near Serebrianka, Siversk, Bohuslavka, and Zelenyi Pryl.
Fighting continues in certain areas of the front, particularly in the Lyman, Siversk, and Pokrovsk directions. Ukrainian soldiers are bravely holding the line, resisting numerous enemy attacks.
On July 28, it was officially announced that the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the border village of Kindrativka in the Sumy region.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Defense Forces had disrupted the Russian army’s plans in the Sumy region and pushed the enemy back in this direction.
