Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 25

Russian forces carried out over 70 attacks on positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces over the past day. The fiercest fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk direction. Active combat operations are also ongoing near Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, and in the area of Toretsk, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time, a total of 72 combat engagements had taken place today.
Border settlements continue to suffer from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, including Medvedivka in the Chernihiv region; Prohres, Prokhody, Kucheriivka, Bila Bereza, Pokrovka, Velyka Pysarivka, Khodyne, Turia, Novovasylivka, and Mariine in the Sumy region; and Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region.
Situation by directions
Four out of five enemy attacks today were repelled by Ukrainian defenders in the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, while one engagement is still ongoing. The enemy also launched two airstrikes, dropping four guided aerial bombs (KABs), and carried out 81 shelling attacks, including five using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Lyptsi, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian forces. Airstrikes using unguided rockets and KABs targeted Vodiane, Hranove, Okhrimivka, and Hryhorivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions three times near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Nova Kruhliakivka. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the invading army launched 11 attacks near Hrekivka, Kopanky, Nadiia, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna, and Torske. The Defense Forces successfully repelled eight of the assaults, and combat is still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attempted to advance near Verkhnokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked five times in the areas of Stupochky and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched four assaults today in the areas of Toretsk, Nelipivka, and toward Oleksandro-Kalynove. One engagement is currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have made 31 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Poltavka, Myrne, Koptieve, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Novomykolaivka, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. The Defense Forces are holding their ground, having repelled 26 attacks so far. Five engagements are still underway. Enemy losses are being clarified.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy launched six attacks near the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Vilne Pole, and Shevchenko. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attempted one assault near Malynivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the aggressor made one attempt to advance toward Novoandriivka. The settlement of Kamianske was hit by an airstrike.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike on Olhivka.
"The situation on other parts of the front has not changed significantly," the General Staff noted.
Russian losses in the war against Ukraine
Earlier today, the General Staff of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over one million military personnel.
In particular, Russian army losses over the past day alone amounted to nearly 1,000 soldiers. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one tank, six armored combat vehicles, 58 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
