Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 17

The Russian army launched 2 missile strikes and 56 airstrikes, dropped 110 guided aerial bombs, deployed 3,226 kamikaze drones, and shelled Ukrainian positions and populated areas 5,481 times, including 96 times with MLRS.

Defense Forces' response

Ukrainian Air Force, artillery, and missile forces struck eight areas where enemy personnel, equipment, and weapons were concentrated, five artillery systems, and one important enemy target.

Situation by direction

Northern-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions. Ukrainian forces repelled 38 assaults. Russian aviation dropped 32 guided bombs and carried out 14 airstrikes. A total of 225 shellings were recorded, including one using MLRS.

Southern Slobozhanske direction. Russian troops attempted four assaults on Ukrainian positions near Dovhenke and Kamianka.

Kupiansk direction. Four enemy attacks occurred over the past day. Russians struck in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove, Holubivka, and Petropavlivka.

Lyman direction. Russian forces tried to advance seven times in the areas of Kopanky, Nadiia, Hrekivka, Ridkodub, and Kolodiazi.

Siversk direction. One attack was recorded near Hryhorivka.

Kramatorsk direction. Twelve combat clashes occurred in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Bila Hora.

Toretsk direction. Russian troops launched 18 attacks near Toretsk, Diliivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, and Yablunivka.

Pokrovsk direction. 56 enemy assaults were recorded in the areas of Popiv Yar, Myroliubivka, Shevchenko Pershe, Promin, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Orikhove, Kotliarivka, Novopavlivka, Andriivka, and Oleksiivka.

Novopavlivka direction. Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 28 times near Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Bahatyr, Burlatske, and in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and Shevchenko.

Huliaipole direction. Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian attacks near Malynivka.

Orikhiv direction. Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian assaults near Nesterianka.

Prydniprovsk direction. One enemy assault was recorded in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge.

Volyn and Polissia directions. No signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.

Russian losses in war in Ukraine

As previously reported, Russian troops lost 1,060 military personnel over the past day.

Ukrainian defenders also eliminated an enemy tank, three armored fighting vehicles, 20 artillery systems, one MLRS, 177 operational-tactical level UAVs, and 79 enemy military vehicles.
