India and Türkiye have offered the US proposals to ensure security in the Black Sea, according to a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta.

"So when you talk about the Black Sea, obviously you saw a lot of countries speak up and provide a willingness to – both Türkiye and India have come to the table with some ideas about how we can get grain shipments movement, because this is threatening the world’s food security, and some energy security as well," Rubio said.

Zelenskyy responded to these remarks in a post.

The Ukrainian president wrote that this was what he had been advocating all along and had included in his peace plan, emphasizing the need to involve three parties and work toward a ceasefire and peace.

He added that Türkiye had previously conveyed a proposal for a ceasefire in the Black Sea to both Ukraine and Russia, and that Erdoğan had discussed the matter with Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy stressed that restoring security in the Black Sea should be a priority, particularly given that some countries have a vested interest in it and are ready not only to discuss it but also to help ensure it.

He concluded by saying that the focus was now on maritime security, with energy to follow.

On October 31, following talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was preparing for a trilateral format involving the US and Russia in the first half of November.

During their meeting, they discussed Türkiye's involvement, along with Europe and other partners, as well as the possibility of holding a meeting on Turkish soil.

On November 5, Erdoğan said he intended to discuss ending the war with Putin.

He said that Turkish officials were maintaining contacts with Ukrainian and Russian representatives regarding a new meeting between the parties in Türkiye, while the Kremlin said that no concrete arrangements for a conversation had been made yet.
