Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 9

Since the beginning of June 9, there have been 88 combat engagements on the frontline. Russian forces continue to actively assault in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Hlyboke.
In the Kupiansk direction, there have been four enemy assaults since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian offensive actions near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Kolisnykivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched four attacks near Lypove and toward Olhivka. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy has not conducted any offensive actions since the beginning of the day.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attempts by Russian forces to advance in the areas of Bila Hora and Kurdiumivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched eight attacks in the areas of Diliivka, Yablunivka, and Toretsk. Two battles are still underway.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 21 attempts since the start of the day to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Malynivka, Promin, Lysivka, Udachne, Bohdanivka, Oleksiivka, Zelenyi Kut, Andriivka, and toward Muravka. Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding the line and have repelled 19 of these attacks. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
Today in the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked eight times near the settlements of Novosilka, Zelene Pole, Vilne Pole, Vesele, and in the direction of Shevchenko and Zaporizhzhia. One engagement is still in progress. The settlements of Zaporizhzhia and Novopil were hit by airstrikes with guided bombs.
In the Huliaipole direction, one combat engagement near the settlement of Malynivka was repelled since the beginning of the day, and two more battles are still ongoing. The settlements of Huliaipole and Olhivske came under airstrikes with unguided missiles.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults in the areas of Novoandriivka, Stepove, Nesteryanka, and toward Pavlivka. One engagement is still ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Novoandriivka and Kamianske.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to advance. The settlement of L'vove was hit by airstrikes with guided bombs.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 Russian attacks, while four combat engagements are still underway. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out six airstrikes, dropping a total of 10 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions and settlements, and has launched 121 artillery strikes, including two with multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 997,000 military personnel.
In particular, over the past day alone, the Russian army lost 970 soldiers. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 4 tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, 42 artillery systems, 167 drones, and other enemy equipment.
