Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 12

Since the beginning of May 12, there have been 69 combat engagements on the front line. Russian forces continue to actively assault in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
One enemy attack is currently being repelled by Ukrainian defenders near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction.
In the Kupiansk direction, the invading army launched two attacks on Ukrainian positions near Pishchane and Novoosynove. In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions seven times in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Torske, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna, and toward Olhivka. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy carried out five offensive operations in the areas of Bilohorivka and Hryhorivka. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are repelling two enemy assault attempts. Russian forces are trying to break through near Vasiukivka and Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, one enemy attack near Diliivka was successfully repelled.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 29 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions near the settlements of Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and in the directions of Zoria and Popovyi Yar. Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding their ground and have already repelled 23 enemy assaults. Poltavka and Pokrovsk were targeted by airstrikes.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy made 11 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Rozdolne, Zelenyi Hai, and Novosilky, with three engagements still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, no offensive actions were recorded, but airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Huliaipole and Vysoke.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops repelled three enemy assaults near Mala Tokmachka and Mali Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions twice but did not achieve any success.
In the Kursk direction, there have been six combat engagements since the beginning of the day, two of which are still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy conducted five airstrikes, dropping 10 glide bombs (KABs), and carried out 161 artillery attacks, including seven with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 967,000 personnel.
In the past day alone, Russian forces lost 1,170 soldiers. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 8 tanks, 27 armored combat vehicles, 48 artillery systems, 141 drones, and other enemy equipment.
