The Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated another 1,170 Russian invaders, as well as destroyed 8 tanks, 27 armored fighting vehicles, 48 artillery systems, and 3 enemy air defense systems, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 12, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 967,060 (+1,170) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,800 (+8);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,473 (+27);
  • artillery systems - 27,718 (+48);
  • MLRS - 1,381;
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,162 (+3);
  • aircraft - 372;
  • helicopters - 335;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 35,678 (+141);
  • cruise missiles - 3,197;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 48,118 (+171);
  • special equipment - 3,884 (+6).

Situation on the front

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 111 battles had taken place on the front lines between the beginning of May 11 and the evening.

According to the Defense Forces, the Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest — it sees the highest number of enemy assaults and attacks.

Additionally, in a report published on May 12 by experts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which included updated battle maps, Ukrainian forces had recently advanced near Toretsk. Meanwhile, Russian occupiers were observed making advances in the north of the Kharkiv region and in the Novopavlivka direction.
