Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 11

Since the beginning of May 11 and until the evening, 111 combat engagements took place along the frontline. The hottest area remains the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces neutralized 368 Russians and destroyed a significant amount of equipment, including a UAV command post, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on May 11, Ukraine’s military command provided an update on the operational situation.
Russian strikes
Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched 39 airstrikes, dropping 68 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 1,262 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,821 shelling attacks on defense positions and populated areas.
Frontline update
In the Kharkiv direction, Russia launched two assaults near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked near Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove, with Ukrainian defense forces repelling two attempts to advance.
In the Lyman direction, Russia attacked Ukrainian positions 20 times near Kopanky, Hrekivka, Novе, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, and toward Hryhorivka. Four clashes are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four assaults near Bilohorivka, two of which are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces launched assaults near Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Andriivka. Four attacks were repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops conducted six assaults near Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, they carried out attacks near Stara Mykolaivka, Vodiane Druhe, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and Bahatyr. Ukrainian forces repelled 38 Russian assaults, with nine more battles still ongoing.
“Today in this direction, according to preliminary data, 368 invaders were neutralized, including 193 killed,” the General Staff reported.
Ukrainian defense forces also destroyed 5 armored vehicles, 1 artillery system, 1 vehicle, 15 motorcycles, 32 UAVs, 1 piece of special equipment, and a UAV command post. They also damaged 1 armored vehicle, 1 car, 4 motorcycles, and 4 artillery systems.
In the Novopavlivskyi direction, Russian forces attempted seven assaults near Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, and Novopil. Three engagements are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces conducted six assaults near Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, and Mali Shcherbaky. Ukrainian troops repelled all attacks.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces made one unsuccessful assault on Ukrainian positions.
In the Kursk direction, seven attacks took place, with one battle still underway. Russia also carried out two airstrikes (dropping four guided bombs) and launched 134 artillery strikes, including eight using MLRS.
Earlier on May 11, the General Staff reported that Russian forces lost 1,310 personnel in the past day. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 33 Russian artillery systems.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), as of May 11, Ukrainian forces advanced in the Kursk region, while Russian troops made gains in parts of the Donetsk region.
