Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 12

Over the past day, 155 combat engagements were registered along the entire frontline. The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian drone control center and a military stockpile, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia conducted 65 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, dropping 125 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out about 3,500 attacks, including 114 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 3,443 kamikaze drones.
Russia carried out air strikes, in particular, in the areas of populated areas:
- Horokhovatka, Sadovod in Kharkiv region;
- Kostiantynivka, Rodynske in Donetsk region;
- Novodarivka, Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Pavlivka, Mali Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia region;
- Kozatske in Kherson region.
Frontlines
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 3 Russian attacks near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, 2 Russian attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russia's assault in the areas of Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 25 times. They tried to advance near Kopanky, Hrekivka, Nove, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, and in the direction of Hryhorivka.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 8 Russian attacks yesterday. Russian units tried to advance in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhnekamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 4 combat clashes were registered in the areas of Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Andriivka.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia carried out 6 attacks in the areas of Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 70 Russian assault and offensive actions in the areas of Stara Mykolaivka, Vodiane Druhe, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and Bahatyr.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 13 Russian attacks near Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, and Novopil.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 6 Russian attacks near Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, and Mali Shcherbaky yesterday.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russians conducted an attempt to attack the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
8 combat engagements took place in the Kursk sector yesterday. In addition, Russia launched four air strikes using 10 guided aerial bombs, and also fired 284 artillery shells at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities, including 8 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.
Russian losses
Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupation forces and actively undermining Russia's offensive potential in the rear.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 20 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, 5 artillery pieces, a military stockpile, and a Russian drone control center.
In total, the Russian losses amounted to 1,170 people over the past day. Ukrainian soldiers also neutralized 8 tanks, 27 armored combat vehicles, 48 artillery systems, 3 air defense systems, 141 operational and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, 171 vehicles, and 6 Russian special equipment units.
