Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 22

As of 4:00 PM on March 22 (Kyiv time), 70 combat engagements have been registered at the frontline since the beginning of the day. Russia remains highly active in the Pokrovsk direction, with slightly fewer battles recorded in the Kursk region, informs the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
Today, the enemy launched artillery strikes from Russian territory on the following settlements:

Bratenytsia, Oleksandrivka, Mykhailivske, Kucherivka, Slavhorod, Doroshivka in Sumy region;

Khrynivka in Chernihiv region;

Luhivka in Kharkiv region.
Air strikes with guided bombs targeted the settlements of Krasnopillia, Turia, Uhroidy, Mykhailivka, and Petrushivka in the Sumy region.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attacked the defense positions near the settlement of Vovchansk. The battle is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance toward our positions near Zahryzove once daily. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled the attack.
In the Lyman direction, 13 combat engagements occurred near Nadiia, Dibrova, Kolodyazi, Torske, and towards Novyi and Novomykhailivka. Five of these engagements are ongoing.
In the Siversky direction, Ukrainian defenders are repelling an enemy attack near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.
In the Toretsk direction, Russians attacked the areas of Diliivka and Toretsk 13 times. Four engagements are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy remains highly active. Throughout the day, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Panteleimonivka, Kalynove, Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Novoukrainka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, Novoandriivka, and towards Pokrovsk. Four engagements are ongoing. The enemy also launched air strikes on Pokrovsk, Serhiivka, and Yelyzavetivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russians attacked six times near Kostiantynopil. All attacks were repelled.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions. However, they carried out air strikes with NARs on the settlements of Novodarivka, Malynivka, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to advance toward Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy launched an airstrike with NARs near Olhivka but did not conduct offensive actions.
In Russia's Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks, with a total of 16 combat engagements recorded to date. The enemy carried out 11 air strikes, dropping 16 guided bombs on settlements and defense positions. Additionally, the enemy conducted 183 artillery strikes, including six from multiple launch rocket systems.
As a reminder, during the previous day, from March 21 to March 22, Russian forces lost 1,210 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 96 artillery systems, 258 operational-tactical level drones, and 166 vehicles.
