Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 19

Ukraine's Defense Forces are holding back the advance of Russian forces. Since the beginning of March 19, the total number of combat engagements has reached 64, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, communities in the following settlements have been affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire today:
- Tymonovychi, Khrinivka, and Prohres in the Chernihiv region;
- Stepok and Popivka in the Sumy region;
- Vidrodzhenivske in the Kharkiv region.
The enemy also carried out an airstrike on the areas of Uhroidy, Myropillia, Turia, Mala Rybytsia, and Petrushivka in the Sumy region.
Situation on the frontlines

Kharkiv direction: The enemy launched one attack on Ukrainian positions near Dvorichna. The battle is still ongoing.

Kupiansk direction: Russian troops attempted one attack near Zahryzove.

Lyman direction: The invading army launched six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Yampolivka and in the direction of Nove. One battle is still ongoing.

Kramatorsk direction: The enemy attempted to advance toward Oleksandro-Shultyne but was repelled.

Toretsk direction: The enemy is trying to breach Ukrainian defenses near Toretsk, Krymske, and Dyliivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled six assaults, while three battles are still ongoing.

Pokrovsk direction: Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have made 29 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions near Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Oleksiivka, and Andriivka. The Defense Forces have repelled 24 attacks, while five battles are still ongoing.

Novopavlivka direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy assaults. The enemy attempted to advance in the area of Konstiantynopil.

Huliaipole direction: The enemy is attacking Ukrainian positions toward Novopil, with one battle still ongoing.

Orikhiv direction: The Russian forces launched two attacks in the direction of Stepove. The battles are still ongoing. Yasna Polyana, Blakytnе, and Novoivanivka suffered airstrikes with guided aerial bombs (KABs).

Prydniprovskyi direction: The enemy has not conducted offensive actions but carried out airstrikes on Burhunka and Vyrivka.

Kursk region operation: Ukrainian forces repelled nine enemy attacks today, with four battles still ongoing. The enemy's aviation conducted seven airstrikes, dropping eight KABs.

Siversk direction: The enemy has not conducted offensive actions.
As of the evening of March 18, a total of 120 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines. The enemy concentrated most of its attacks in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions, as well as in the Kursk region.
