Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 10

On the last day, 161 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. Most of the fighting took place near Pokrovsk and in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 6 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, 2 air defense facilities, a command post, and one control center for Russian drones.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 2 Russian attacks in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, 8 Russian attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults near Zakhidne, Kucherivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Petropavlivka, and Zahryzove.
Russia attacked 17 times in the Lyman sector. Russian troops tried to advance near Zelenyi Hai, Borivska Andriivka, Kopanka, Tverdokhlibove, Makiivka, Hrekivka, and Ivanivka.
In the Siversk sector, Russia attacked Ukrainian positions once near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 7 combat clashes were registered in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia carried out 12 attacks near Toretsk, Bila Hora, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 42 Russian assaults and offensive actions in the areas of Baranivka, Miroliubivka, Sukhyi Yar, Yelizavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Zvirove, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Novovasylivka, Novoandriivka and Novoyelizavetivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 29 Russian attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Sribne, Andriivka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne.
In the Vremivka sector, Russia carried out 11 offensives against the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Yantarne, Vremivka, Kostiantynopil, and Rozlyv.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian invaders unsuccessfully stormed the positions of Ukrainian units 3 times.
In the operational area in the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 25 Russian attacks over the past day. In addition, Russia launched 19 air strikes, using 31 guided bombs, and carried out 469 artillery attacks (including 19 with MLRS) on Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russians are actively using artillery and aviation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of Russia.
Russia's losses
Over the past day, Ukrainian troops eliminated 1,830 Russians. Ukrainian defenders also neutralized 10 Russian tanks, 32 armored combat vehicles, 24 artillery systems, and three air defense systems.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has already lost 804,000 soldiers.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported that Russia suffered record losses last year. Russia lost more than 430,000 soldiers, which is almost 36 motorized infantry divisions.
