Since the beginning of the day on December 6, 163 combat engagements have occurred at the frontline. The largest number of engagements was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. Within the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting an operation, fierce fighting is taking place, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Military commanders provided operational data on the situation at the front as of 10:00 PM on December 6 (Kyiv time).

Enemy shelling

Since the start of the day, Russian forces have launched two missile attacks and seven airstrikes, including 13 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, the enemy has conducted 512 kamikaze drone strikes and fired 3,270 shells at Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions.

Frontline situation

The General Staff emphasized that Ukraine's Armed Forces are focusing efforts on disrupting Russian offensive plans and depleting the enemy’s combat potential.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted five assaults near Vovchansk, Tykhe, and toward Vysoka Yaruha and Kozacha Lopan but were repelled.

"Estimated enemy's losses in this direction include 87 troops killed or wounded, one artillery system, four armored vehicles, 17 UAVs, three transport vehicles, and one specialized vehicle destroyed. Additionally, one armored vehicle and four transport vehicles were damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian fortifications near Kolisnykivka, Lozova, Zahryzove, and Zapadne nine times. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched 14 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Kopanky, Nadia, Makiivka, Torske, and Terny. All attacks were repelled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attempted three advances near Bila Hora and Stupochky, all of which failed. Two battles are ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces carried out eight assaults in the areas of Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Shcherbynivka. Two attacks continue.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops launched 44 assault and offensive actions. The General Staff noted heightened enemy activity near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zhovte, and Chumatske. Three clashes are still underway.

"Enemy's losses in this direction today amount to 107 troops killed and 172 wounded. Ukrainian defenders destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle, five vehicles, two ATVs, a UAV control antenna, and a motorcycle," the report stated.

In the Kurakhove direction, intense Russian attacks targeted Ukrainian units in 35 assaults. Russian forces tried to advance near Stari Terny, Zoria, Sontsivka, Kurakhove, Dachne, and Dalne. Eleven battles remain active.

In the Vremivka direction, 20 Russian assaults occurred near Uspenivka, Kostiantynopolske, Rozdolne, Novodarivka, and Novosilka. Six battles are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy’s attempts to advance toward Novodanylivka failed. Russian forces also conducted guided aerial bombs on civilian infrastructure in Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia.

In the Pryniprovskyi direction, three Russian attacks were repelled.

In the Kursk region, the General Staff confirmed that intense battles are underway, where Ukraine’s Defense Forces are conducting an operation. Ukrainian forces are causing significant damage to the Russian army.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that military leaders carefully prepared for the Kursk operation. He emphasized that the planning included insights from earlier offensive actions.

Syrskyi also outlined key objectives for Ukrainian forces in the Kursk direction. These include bolstering defensive resilience, maximizing the enemy's losses, preparing reserves, and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of ammunition and other logistical materials.
